Function of the Committee:

The EUMCCI Aerospace committee offers members a platform to discuss and raise key issues in the sector. The committee provides members the space to exchange, brainstorm and develop new ideas to improve the industry as well as draft relevant guidelines and most of all, enhance our cooperation with Malaysian and European authorities and / or representatives.

The stated objectives of the committee are:

1. Promote improved aviation safety and European safety standards
2. Raise awareness of European aviation practices
3. Cooperation: EU-Environmental initiatives
4. To develop education and technical training to standards equivalent to those in Europe
5. To promote Malaysia as an Asia Aerospace Hub
6. Development of routes between the EU and Malaysia

Recommendations:

• This Committee will be the platform to organize dialogues and shall invite DCA, MIGHT, PEMANDU, MITI, MATRADE, EPU, and other stakeholders and government bodies and associations to join our meetings. Further review to be carried out at each sub-committee meeting.
• Each sub-committee to meet in the new year and a half day seminar to be arranged of findings to key stakeholders before year end
• Engaging with Universities and Private Sectors on issues of Lack of Human Resources/skilled manpower
• Dialogues with Banks and Financial Institutions on the difficulty in obtaining Finance and incentives.

Topic: How to support Malaysia to become a MRO hub

Key Issues on: This can only be possible following identification of key issues from earlier activities (as mentioned above). Issues related to Procurement, Skilled Labour in the industry, Transformation of system, Industry Roadmap, Recommendation on policies and etc.. To engage, and align our objectives by raising our collective issues and provide solutions as one voice to all related stakeholders.
