Mr François Hollande replaces Mr Nicolas Sarkozy as President of France after the final round of elections held on 6th May 2012. The first Socialist president elected in France in 20 years, Mr Hollande has voiced concerns over the austerity measures introduced as a controlling measure for the current euro crisis.
