We are pleased to
inform that European Union-East ASEAN
Growth Area Business and Technology Partnership (EU-EAGA
BizTech Partnership), a project co-funded
by the European Commission (EC)
under the Asia Invest II Programme
and jointly supported by the State
Government of Sarawak, Miri City
Council, ConnectAsiaEurope e.V., Germany; Spanish
Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX), Spain;
Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines
Foundation, Inc. (CCPFI) and The
French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam
(CCIFV), will be held on 16-19
November 2009 at Imperial
Hotel Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia.
This initiative
comprises of Business Match-Making Event,
International Conference,
Capacity Building Programme, Business Partnering
Seminar and Business Culture
Training. The project
aims to improve the competitiveness of SMEs in
both the EU and EAGA regions within the four key
priority sectors of Environment and Energy,
Natural Resources (Forestry),
Agriculture/ Aquaculture and
Ecotourism. We are expecting
200 - 250 participants to attend
this auspicious event.
Pre-identified
target groups of EU-EAGA BizTech Partnership
consists of Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within
the 4 priority sectors, Chamber of Commerce,
Government Agencies involved in Trade, Investment
and Technology Promotion, Universities as well as
R&D Institutions.
The
Business Match-Making Event will be held
on 18-19 November 2009. This
2-Day event aims to facilitate business and
technology partnership by arranging
one-on-one business meetings between
participating organizations from the European
Union (EU) and Asia particularly in BIMP-EAGA
region to formalise business partnership such as
trade & investment, joint venture, management
contract, technical assistance, technology
licensing, consultancy, trading of traditional and
non-traditional products (such as carbon trading),
public procurement, venture capital investment and
R&D in the 4 key priority area of the project.
The profile of
potential business collaboration of all registered
participating organisations will be featured in
our project catalogues (15,000 copies),
which will be circulated to various
targeted groups in Europe and EAGA/Asia.
In conjunction with
this project, the organisers will be hosting a
½ Day Business Culture Training
on 16 November 2009; 1
Day International Conference and
4 Sectoral Capacity Building Programmes
(Environment and Energy, Natural Resources
(Forestry), Agriculture/Aquaculture, Ecotourism) on
17 November 2009.
