Key Facts:

  • The launch of Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) RM100 million Business Start-up Fund (BSF) to encourage innovation and boost participation of local companies in technology-based areas.
  • AmBank (M) Bhd is equipping its 815 automated teller machines (ATMs) to run on 3G wireless network to connect to its main banking network. This local telecommunications network will use Spanish telecommunications provider Teldat Group's wireless technology which is provided and managed by EKTECH Consulting Sdn Bhd. This approach would counter the physical constraint of using normal leased lines. For security, the customer's financial information is secured end-to-end by IPSEC security at AES 256-bits encryption level, a security level exceeding the banking industry standard.
