Surveys

Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line to begin operating by 2017

Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasana) project development division group director Zulkifli  Mohd Yusoff reported that the alignment and route is expected to be finalised and announced in June 2011. A survey has been carried out and the period for public feedback ends on 14 May 2011.

As of 6th May 2011, Prasana has received a total of 6,000 suggestions on the MRT Project and 5,000 out of the total amount of feedback received had been positive.  The significant proportion of feedack received are on line's alignment, location of stations and frequency of feeder buses. Prasana is now studying suitable routes and areas to provide bus service. It has been reported that once the MRT line is completed, it will traverse areas such as Kota Damansara, Cheras, Kajang and Kuala Lumpur. The proposed line is 51km long with a total of 35 stations.

The tenders for the elevated MRT line will be opened by the end of June 2011. Prasana is the project owner, Land Public Transport Commission is the supervising agency and MMC-Gamuda Joint Venture is the project delivery partner.
