Sector Introduction: 2016
Since Malaysia is on its way from a manufacturing to a service and productivity-driven economy, this sector plays an important role in the government's plan to accelerate economic growth. In 2014, the Service sector contributed 55% to the Malaysian GDP and it grew about 7% annually the recent years. By 2020, the government expects to bring up the share of Services in the GDP to 61%.
Focusing on Construction and Engineering, providing Legal, Financial and Accountancy Services as well as Healthcare and Medical related Services, this metasector requires the provision of those services where real expertise is critical and reliability as well as a customer-oriented approach is mandatory.
A constant rising demand within this field offers outstanding business opportunities for European companies, not at least due to their long-term experience in their own core market and their innovative products developed through a competitive business environment in Europe.
Providing a valuable chance for European companies to gain market insights as well as finding a reliable local partner on the ground, SEBSEAM-M is organizing a full day Business Matchmaking Event in the third quarter of 2016 in order to bring together European corporates and local players.
